GOV OTTI GIVES APPROVAL-IN-PRINCIPLE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DAIRY FARM IN ABIA

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex C. Otti OFR, has given approval-in-principle to a proposal for the establishment of an ultra modern dairy farm in the state.

Governor Otti gave the berthed nod when he met with the management of Blue Ribbon Limited, led by Sir Idris Wabara, who visited him on Friday.

He said the establishment of a dairy farm in the state makes sense as it would enhance economic development, adding that the idea of having people move around the streets with cows is outdated and outlawed in most countries.

The Governor assured the company that his government would get into the details of the proposal with a view to ascertain the possibility of it being implemented.

Giving insight into the company's proposal, Wabara, a native of Ohambele in Ukwa-East, Abia State, said his company intends to establish the state-of-the-art dairy farm in partnership with Afimilk, an Israeli company renowned for its expertise in agriculture.

Wabara emphasised the significance of the project in strengthening the economic landscape of Abia State and its potential impact on the lives of its citizens, noting that the project presents an opportunity to enhance the state's agricultural productivity and reduce reliance on imported dairy products.

He added that the proposed dairy farm offers potential benefits to the state in increased revenue generation, job creation, heightened economic activity as well leveraging Abia's agricultural potential to ensure food security, and generate foreign exchange the state.

"You know the state of the Nigerian economy now, it's either we produce or we perish. A political leader we all admire so much said Nigeria needs to move from consumption to production, and our core competences, I believe, rests in agriculture.

"We know what his Excellency the Governor has been doing in Abia.

Oh wow, a dairy farm in Abia! Because what the state really needs is more cows roaming the streets and not, you know, basic infrastructure and services for its people.

That's not socialism. This farm will employ lots of Abians which is no different from the average iboman working in Fidelity bank or working for Innoson motors.

I love you for this. We need this soft loan to establish businesses in Igbo land. Once Alex Otti announced soft loan for Abia indigents, that day I will return to East to establish my intended business that has been stalled for years due to finance

and capitalism means government handing out money to people?

Well, I doesn't seem, at least for now, that Otti has some mental health issues like you.

Kindly do well to always leave the "East" out of your preposterous economic views.

Looks like Otti is the only governor in Nigeria.

For those asking what Peter Obi would have done differently from Tinubu, Alex Otti is the answer. Man is working round the clock to move Abia state to greater heights.

You always give advice like a venture capitalist but always know that what works for A won't work for B. Every country has an economic model that will work for it.

No country practice pure Capitalism or Communism

Hahaha......you are confusing trading with capitalism. Let the Gov breathe. Even though I don't see the comparative advantage of Abia in diary business, sharing money as loans that people will not pay back is not better than creating economic activities with huge potential for employment.

you remember I did say some of you Obidients need to go for serious mental checks.

An investor wants to establish a diary farm. A highly needed and profitable production venture with numerous finished products and you call it socialism.

What then is capitalism? Government investing in business by giving out "loans" to people whose skills and business exposure are questionable?

Do you know how much government spend in the north to subsidize agriculture? Yet, they are the poorest people in the world.

The governor only needs to provide him all he should for his business to thrive.

Ikwerre must understand that they are not the only Igbo sub group that pronounce "Nw" as "W". You can see Wabara from Abia over here. Writing "Nw" as "W" in your dialect doesn't make you a different ethnic group. It's common among many other SE Igbo groups too

Diary farm will ultimately boost the state economy as it will churn out leather products for the shoe industry, beef for food processing factory in Aba and milk that would create a new value chain in the Abia economy. They can transport foray from northern states as Saudi is buying from Australia or even buy from Australia straight to avoid North wahala and factor.

Abia is growing with indigenous businesses. But if the start their own bank of industry or bank of enterprise, it will spurn growth.

What is happening to Alex otitis signature bank and I hope they will meet capital requirements
