Nigeria is indeed a place where evil triumphs over good. Since Tinubu took over government, he has continued to unleash one terrible policy after another, and he seems to be targeting poor and average income Nigerians.

The latest poison now is the demonic new power tariffs. Nigeria currently has about the most expensive power tariffs in West Africa! Instead of seeking ways to build power plants and raise power generation from the meager 5000 megawatts, Tinubu decided to raise tariffs so high, so that the already poor and struggling masses will be left with no option than to switch off and stay without it, while only the rich who can pay enjoys it, then he will turn around and claim to have solved power power problem. Their wicked calculation is to make power so expensive that only a fraction of Nigerians can afford it, while majority voluntarily switches off. Then, with the 5% of Nigerians than can afford the expensive tariff, they will say that Nigeria now has 24/7 power supply 😩😩 classic robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Everything needed to produce relatively affordable and constant electricity is available in Nigeria. There is enough hydro resources, excessive gas to the extent they still flare and waste it till today. Excessive sunlight. Enough oil and coal etc. instead of Tinubu to brainstorm or do peer review with Egypt to understand how they were able to generate massive power supply within a very short time, he decided to use the easy way out.

They’re now bamboozling Nigerians with tales about how electricity is never cheap and bla bla bla. When they removed subsidy on fuel, they quickly did a comparative analysis with what poor, landlocked and non oil producing African countries were paying for fuel just to justify it. But now they have refused to do a comparative analysis with how much other African countries, even without huge gas, oil and hydro resources are paying. Why? Because they know their wickedness will be exposed.

Anyways, I don’t really blame them, I blame the suffering ones that are busy defending them due to primitive tribalism or personal interests.

How would small businesses survive? Not providing power supply and making it inaccessible via cost, what’s the difference?

Nigerians will continue to suffer needlessly until they decide to wake up!!!

Yeah we got the resources, but the thing is resources dont process themselves, they need money to do so.

And the cash needed to give every Nigerian 24 hour power is a lot.

Doing subsidies on power and price controls on power like we have been doing for decades is a nice way of keeping domestic and foreign investors out.

That's why I admire prof nnaji because he is willing to invest in a country where price controls on power plus stealing means his return on investment would be lower than expected for that his power station.

Most Nigerian money men and women on the other hand want profits. Nothing wrong with that especially since adequate profit means more money for improving power supply.

Remember power supply has been privatized since 2013 except.for transmission

@OP.

You're a bigoted mischief-maker with obvious hatred for Tinubu and his Yoruba ethnicity but I will indulge you with an analogy.

You have a heroine-addicted family member you love yet do not have money to sponsor his drug rehab.

Do you (a) let him carry on with his Heroine and eventually die or (b) do you lock him in a room, let him go 'cold Turkey' to then eventually beat the addiction, rebuild his life and become a productive member of society?

Which one shows you love your family member more, i.e a or b, even as many of weak fortitude will accuse you of "demonic" cruelty for locking up your own family member like an animal?

There is no money at all for any sector in Nigeria to develop optimally and to resemble what obtains in developed nations in even 20 years, if we carry on as haters like you insist and do not begin making sacrifices today that may seem cruel but are unavoidable to bring efficiency and progress to every sector from power supply, to healthcare, education etc, etc.

We have subsidized and bastardized everthing to become worthless and incapable or working as such work elsewhere.

We subsidized education to keep Nigerians happy yet substandard education is all that is on offer meaning for example, foreign civil engineers, from nations where education is high quality and optimal, handle all our major construction and important insfrastructure projects causing wasteful outflow of our income through purchase of foreign service.

Such kill our specialised service sector while simultaneously doing immense damage to the concept most nation treasure which is that their own people should be capable of builing highways, rail transport system, large hydro electrificatiin dams, solar energy farms and world standard skyscrapers etc, etc.

We subsidized fuel for so long Nigerians got addicted to cheap fuel and could only think in terms of vehicular transport whereas removing subsidy and paying more for fuel means we can and must demand more adequate transport option.

Ditto subsidized electricity in a nation where population and demand is growing rapidly yet there may never be money to fund reliable power supply others take for granted worldwide.

If not that the loss of Obi has made you Igbos so virulently bitter and hateful then it is not rocket science, even with a basic knowledge of economics, to note it is Tinubu that loves Nigerians and is eager to free them from crack addiction, in the form of various unhealthy, insidiously enslaving and unproductive subsidies, so their lives and future can be much better.

Whereas it is all Presidents before Tinubu who have not loved Nigerians enough to truly do what is best for them, and generations unborn, even if such involves initial 'teething pain'.
