Speaking during an Instagram live session while returning from a hospital where Jnr Pope had been taken to, Stanley who initially disclosed that Junior Pope’s body was taken to the river for a ritual to be carried out to get him back from the river gods, disclosed that the actor has now been certified dead by doctors from three different hospitals.

He further blamed Junior Pope’s death on negligence, revealing that he and other crew members were not wearing life jackets while traveling in boats to the set of a movie they were shooting.

Stanley also revealed that Pope’s wife was called to the scene of the incident and was heartbroken when her husband’s body was pulled out.

The movie producer and the entire production team should be arrested for negligence. How would you be ferrying actors across the seas without life jackets and life guards ?. Lots of things isn't just right with the whole circumstances of this actor tragic end.

We are largely too nonchalant towards important things in this country.

I give it to Lagos State government that made it mandatory that every passenger on boat must wear Safety Jacket and their frequent routine checks on those safety apparatus. This was avoidable had it been the system are working in both Anambra and Delta State waterways transportion system. RiP to all of them that lost their lives.

I have used boat transport from Liverpool Apapa to Port Novo on several occasions and they safety system is topnotch.
