Governor Umo Eno recently announced that the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre is set to open its doors for studies starting from May 20, 2024. This announcement was warmly received by Rt. Rt. Hon Ime Okon commended Governor Umo Eno for honouring his campaign promise to connect the dots by completing and utilizing projects initiated by the previous administration.

"I am deeply grateful to Governor Umo Eno for his dedication to the development of our youth through the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre. This initiative will undoubtedly empower our young people and equip them with the skills needed for a prosperous future," Ime Okon remarked.

During a visit to the centre, Rt. Hon Ime Okon reiterated his support for initiatives that promote youth empowerment and community development. He recalled that as a member of the House of Assembly he had moved motions to persuade government to utilize the moribund facility at the then Government Technical College, Ikot Ada Idem for a skills acquisition centre rather than allow it to rot. He said he savoured a sense of fulfillment now that the dream has materialized.

He congratulated the Consultant in charge of the project, Mr. Churchill Udoh, for the commendable work done in ensuring the standard of facilities at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center which he noted was highly impressive.

"I am pleased to see the progress made at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center, and I look forward to the positive impact it will have on our youth and the community as a whole," Rt. Hon Ime Okon concluded.

With the resumption of training activities at the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center, Governor Umo Eno's commitment to youth empowerment and skills development continues to receive accolades and support from leaders like Rt. Hon Ime Okon.

The center stands as a beacon of hope for the youth of Akwa Ibom State, offering them the opportunity to acquire valuable skills and chart a successful path towards a brighter future.
