Nigerians Speak On Hike In Electricity Tariff by Nairalanduser10: 9:41pm On Apr 14
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) recently announced a significant increase in electricity tariffs. This decision which saw a 240% rise in the electricity bill for Band A customers sparked outrage online as Nigerians demanded for immediate reduction.

The band A customers, who are mostly based in commercial areas, will now receive 20-24 hours of electricity supply daily. Under the new tariff structure, these customers are currently paying N225 per kilowatt-hour, a tremendous increase from the previous rate of N68/kWh.
