Here are five ways to avoid ulcers:

1. *Eat a balanced diet*: Focus on whole, nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid spicy or spicy foods that can irritate the stomach lining.

2. *Manage stress*: Engage in stress-reducing activities like meditation, deep breathing, or yoga to help manage stress levels. Stress can exacerbate ulcer symptoms and slow down the healing process.

3. *Avoid NSAIDs and alcohol*: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen can irritate the stomach lining and cause ulcers. Limit or avoid these medications and alcohol, which can also irritate the stomach.

4. *Protect yourself from H. pylori infection*: H. pylori bacteria can cause ulcers. Practice good hygiene, avoid contaminated food and water, and get tested and treated if necessary.

5. *Don't smoke*: Smoking can reduce blood flow to the stomach lining, making it harder for ulcers to heal. Quitting smoking can significantly reduce your risk of developing ulcers.

Remember, if you experience persistent stomach pain, nausea, or other symptoms, consult your healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment.
