Boy meets girl. Boy makes cider to woo girl. Now he's right beside her. Right Bee Cider.

Charlie Davis and Katie Morgan met in Chicago in 2011. After noticing Katie's affinity for hard cider, Charlie used his passion for fermentation and professional experience to make her a hard cider as a surprise for her birthday. His efforts to woo her were successful, and the rest is history.

Right Bee Cider officially launched in 2014, six months after their wedding, and after two years of planning and preparation.

In the beginning, with just two people in their company, they worked tirelessly to bring Chicagoans the best cider possible by creating, packaging, and distributing the cider themselves, as well as hand painting tap handles, loading their equipment, and everything in-between. Much has changed since the early days of the business, but one thing remains the same, Right Bee Cider is truly a labor of love.

Charlie Davis
"Worker Bee"
Charlie has been in the alcohol industry for his entire career. He started in the beer industry, worked for five craft breweries and won multiple medals for his recipes. He experimented with making cider during this time, perfected his recipes, and learned every aspect of how to run a craft alcohol operation.

Charlie wears many hats, but most importantly - he makes the cider. He's obsessed with it, in fact, and tweaks recipes and procedures until they’re perfect. Stop in the cidery at any given time and he'll be there. He’s the hardest working guy we know!

Katie Morgan
"Queen Bee"
Katie first fell in love with cider while studying at Cambridge in the UK. When Charlie surprised her with a hard cider for her birthday, she finally found something that matched the crisp, dry ciders she'd come to love.

She's affectionally known as our "Queen Bee" because she runs the show. Whether it's sales or customer relations, event planning or staff training, dealing with licensing, finances, or social media... she's busy keeping the cidery running.
