However, promises of a massive disbursement on Friday the 19th of April 2024 were unmet, leading to widespread confusion and disappointment among Nigerians.

A partial disbursement occurred on April 17-18, 2024, benefiting 100,000 verified beneficiaries nationwide. Despite this initial progress, the anticipated massive disbursement on the 19th did not materialize, leaving many questioning the delay.

Rumors circulated regarding a statement allegedly released by BIONANO, the said company responsible for disbursement, citing technical issues with the payment software. Supposedly, some beneficiaries received only N50 instead of the promised N50,000, prompting the suspension of payments.
