EFCC operatives should register with bybit, bitget, and other exchanges used by these P2P saboteurs and attempt to buy USDT; then get the bank details of the saboteurs, then their BVNs, freeze the accounts, arrest and prosecute them.
In this case what you are suggesting is that Nigeria government should totally ban crypto currency trading

EFCC is busy chasing shadows.

A country that doesn't produce anything for export except oil (which price is not even under their control). A good start will be to start recovering the billions of naira looted by politicians. Chasing thousands of dollars from FX traders and hundred of dollars stolen by yahoo boys will be like a dot in a big circle (no pun intended) when hundreds of millions of dollars
are stored in foreign bank accounts of politicians who regularly get a slap on the wrist when arrested.

They borrow for recurrent and capital expenditures. They are busy defending naira with foreign reserves that they are depleting at an alarming rate.

What could go wrong? None of this abracadabra is a long-term solution. This is just putting a bandaid over an injury. Once they finally run out of gunpowder, naira will take a serious nosedive.

Good. Pls your next move should be to expose the real owners of the money and the source of the money. Am sure you are not talking about people like habby forex, Jeffy Benson and co, I can bet my last blood that if you do your job 50% correctly and sincerely, 90% of all the people that served in the last administration and 100% of APC exco members at all levels will be in jail. Stop the propaganda and do your job. Also stop the childish drama with the white chicken, it's irritating.

Everything must not be politics, which speculators? Didn't we all see the naira/dollar hitting 2k? or what are you saying

This EFCC action will certainly reduce illegal out flow of our common wealth.
Corruption and illegality are our major obstacles to progress in this country.
We hope the current administration will leave stronger institutions otherwise all these are nothing but jamboree

I support this if it really helps to strengthen the Naira against the dollar but we need to invest in other sector apart from crude oil. We have many minerals and agriculture that can fetch us fx if exported as finished goods. Hence the reason we need to move from Consumption to production.
I'm obedient but I'll support the present government when they do well and be their nightmare when they don't

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen over 300 accounts linked to illicit foreign exchange (FX) trading.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Ola Olukoyede, EFCC’s chairman, said the agency secured a court order to freeze the accounts.

“We got an order to freeze those accounts imagine what would have happened if we didn’t seize those accounts,” he said.

“There are people in this country doing worse than Binance,” he said.

Olukoyede said over $15 billion passed through one of the platforms in the last year, which was not regulated by financial regulators.

The development comes a day after Kenya’s police service reportedly arrested Nadeem Anjarwalla, the Binance regional manager for Africa.

On March 22, Anjarwalla escaped from an Abuja guest house where he and Tigran Gambaryan, his colleague, had been kept by the federal government.

Anjarwalla was said to have escaped after guards led him to a nearby mosque for prayers during the Ramadan fast.

Anjarwalla and Gambaryan were charged with tax evasion and money laundering by the federal government. The duo were arrested and detained on February 28.

On February 27, 2024, Olayemi Cardoso, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said $26 billion passed through Binance Nigeria from unidentified sources in one year.

Cardoso said the apex bank was collaborating with different agencies, including the EFCC, the police, and the office of the national security adviser (NSA) to tackle illicit financial flows in the country.

Is part of their work, let them do anything to bring sanity to this country
Spraying of money should be the work of the police because section 21 of the CBN act that criminalised naira mutilation did not mention EFCC!

Even if EFCC wants to act, can you leave your wife inside a burning house to look for your bag because both are your properties?
They should have more pressing things to do to minimize corruption, money laundering and better the Nigerian economy please.
Go ask them the minimum budget for prosecuting a person no matter the offence, then you will know why they should make better use of that budget in this fragile economy!!
