inasmuch as BBC and VOA should not be allowed to determine what information africans should have access to, if the Burkinabe army did kill its own citizens, then it is a big shame. the government and the army should be looking for ways to get he civilian population on its side in its fight against jihadists and not instilling fear in them

Good one, many people don't know that Nigeria civil war was started by BBC broadcast in Hausa service from Kaduna telling northerners that Igbos were slaughtering northerners in Enugu, anger flayed up and the pogrom against Igbos started leading to the killings of hundreds of thousands of Igbos residing in the North.
At the end it turned out to be fake news, the only only northerners killed were political leaders (Sardauna, Balewa and some military officers) by coup plotters led by Major Nzeogwu who didn't consult Igbos or Yorubas or their various tribes before carrying out the coup that was erroneously tagged "Igbo Coup" by the British Ambassador and spread wide by BBC.

The African revolutionary leaders in Burkina Faso, Niger and Mali have done well by banning foreign media broadcasting directly from and to their people.

To start a riot in the North let BBC Hausa just broadcast that Yorubas are killing Hausas and Fulanis in Osogbo or Umuahia and they will start burning Yoruba and Igbo businesses, that's the kind of control that Britain still retains over northern Nigeria using their BBC, ever wondered why for 8 Years the best interviews granted by Buhari was to BBC Hausa service which is later translated into English for us to discuss on Nairaland?

You are so correct angry

Some of you igbos too de lie. When bbc start to work for naija that you claiming it started Nigeria civil. The BBC from British that your educated elite can barely hear is that what Almajiri will be listening to over there transistor radio in the 60s to start a civil war.

I was deceived in 2011 by western media into thinking that Late Libyan leader Muamar Gaddafi was evil only to later find out that Libyans actually had the highest standard of living in Africa and far ahead of many European countries under Gaddafi, same way they lied about Saddam Hussein possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction that led to Iraq war and death of over a million Iraqis.

Open mind on Igbo bigotry n tribalism of accusing anyone n everyone of what you are doing with your pathetic comment n lies.

Please tell us what or which BBC UK was able to reach the talakawas n Almajiris in the North to start the civil war you claim it started. Note only BBC UK was in existence then.

Even as at 1999 before proliferation of BBC chanel into Hausa Yoruba etc you can only receive their signals in the mid night n no Nigeria station rebroadcast BBC program so tell us how BBC started the civil.

Igbos like you that you life is riddled with lies n propaganda deserved to be banned from NL n never allowed to comment on public forum. It is your likes that start the genocide btw Hutsi n Tutsi over foolish news you make noise about.

I do not blame you, Seun already allowed his platform to be turned into an ipob propaganda factory by obidient ipob that churns out every foolish cork n tail lunacy irredeemable tribalistic bigots like you have to spread.
