Those statues are of people in palaces of marble and gold, paved courtyards and velvet rugs.

They are not walking around in some dusty place.

Those are the nobility.

They took off their footwear just like you take off your shoes when you are at home. It doesn't mean they wore no footwear.

The Egyptian sandals were very commonly worn by the people.

They are very similar to the Hausa slippers we have here.

why didn't the Israelites continue building pyramids?

But there is evidence of modern human existence going back over 100,000 years!
