Now That The Dollar To Naira Rate Is High How Do Businesses Reduce Price? by lovediehatelive(m): 11:24am On May 12
Most businesses and prices generally skyrocketed around February when Dollar to naira clocked like 1900/1$, and the prices of almost everything skyrocketed.

Even those that had old stock increased their price. In March and April 2024, the naira seemed to be gaining against the dollar, trading about 1,000-900/$1.

Many people were surprised that prices of goods and other stuff didn't go down since the naira was gaining against the dollar.

Now it has started losing against the dollar, with $1 around 1500-1400, depending on the source.

Can you now see that traders and everyone onto one business or the other, selling one thing or the other aren't to be blamed for keeping prices as it were even though the naira seemed to be gaining?

The naira doesn't look stable!

I mean, even if there should be differences between naira and dollar exchange rate, it shouldn't be up to one percent. It should be around naira 0.004, 0.006, 0.002, increase or decrease against the dollar. And it should be within a quarter of the year or thereabouts, like 5 months interval.

But this isn't the case! It's always in naira 100, 50, 200, and similar, within days! Sometimes as high as 200 difference in just one day!

Haba mana!

This is too sudden for businesses to make profits. Honestly, look around, most businesses are folding up because if this unstableness of the naira to dollar.

Let's pity our businesses abeg, if they go out of business, the government isn't there to help.

You won't be there to help. Most people are just even trying to survive, not to talk of making profits now.

Please and please the government isn't doing well enough, Small businesses shouldn't be blamed for increase in price!
