I had a slight argument with online miscreants this morning on another thread but unfortunately what they failed to understand is that a sitting president can never know what all six regions of Nigeria needs in terms of infrastructure and federal projects, the onus lies on State governors and other members of the FEC from each respective region to table whatever their region deems necessary.

A case in point was during the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan as president where Rotimi Amaechi called out his administration for abandoning the East-West road project which is vital the Niger Delta economy. Unfortunately, we had a Niger Delta man as minister in charge of that project who didn't see it necessary to expedite action. Should we also talk about the Buhari administration ? No matter what one says, one thing you can't take away from ex president Buhari is that he will surely release funds for a project if you make your case known to his FEC but what did we see from our representatives then ? Lackluster performance for eight years which engendered a severe dislike for a man that could easily have had a soft spot in our heart as a people if our representatives had just done their damn jobs. Mind you, readily available information is online concerning federal projects across the country which the South South region never benefited from including federal housing schemes (correct me if I'm wrong) .

Nigeria today and indeed the world is facing a severe economic crunch with no tangible solution in sight but this Tinubu administration whether you hate or love the man is intent on taking developmental projects head on and he is indeed making funds available. Why then are Niger Delta politicians and leaders of thought especially in the Federal Executive Council not taking advantage of this opportunity which might not come again in the foreseeable future ? The only person I know who might have acted differently is Nyesom Wike who is now unfortunately (?) domiciled in Abuja as it's minister. Who then will speak for us in Abuja since like I said, Tinubu can not know everything each region needs ?

the southern leadership just has to wake up and drag these projects over , nobody is asking them to use private funds but just become useful to the people you represent for once. We all see how articulate and concise the northerners are, the Northern Elders Forum as an example are a very powerful pressure group which even their governors listen to and we can see evidence of success on ground within the last few years especially. The SW don't even have to bother with complaints, Fashola was a godsent angel during his tenure as minister, the SE got their second Niger bridge finally but our own is just to collect FAC allocation and drink whiskey, it's sad
