Not sure 'carefree' is the word.

Some countries have a very different culture (social, political etc) from Nigeria. Very different.

In some of these countries, violent crime is simply not the norm. The police in Norway look like benign, kindly social workers when compared to the thuglike, overly militarized police in countries like the USA. The murder rate in Japan for example is less than 1 per 100,000 people...and this is why Shinzo Abe's assassination was so shocking. Voters in some of these countries also want their politicians to be accessible - and a large security blanket will interfere with this desire for voters to connect with their representatives.

Nigerians (as usual) always get the short end of the stick. Their leaders are always inaccessible, hidden behind a massive security blanket. As if that weren't enough to deal with - it is ordinary Nigerians (and not their well protected leaders) who have to deal with violent crime, day after day after day. There's a cruel irony in how the worst aspects of the US system (violent crime, an inaccessible presidential system of government) have been imported wholseale by Nigeria...while the best parts were left alone.
