One of our brothers from the south west was saying how can the Binis say the yorubas came from Benin Kingdom, whether I can't see that the south west is larger than Benin Kingdom? So I told him it is not by size and that the Benin Kingdom had a superior civilization than our South West Brothers.

The ancient Benin Kingdom at its peak spread beyond south west Nigeria to other African nations.

Today you still find some places in South West bearing Bini names like Etiosa in Lagos. Even Eko is the name the Binis gave Lagos in those days.

Do you know Benin Artefacts are also in the West Indies ? A friend of mine once told me he saw Benin stolen arts in far away Trinidad & Tobago museum, Port of Spain, Trinidad … hmm

The Oba of Benin and the State government is very much aware of this great idea & opportunity. There have been instances where agreements/arrangements have been made to loan out these artefacts to museums in the USA and Germany, and maybe in other countries as well.

Good suggestion.. the only issue is that most museums tend to be free, so the opportunity to make income from it isn't really feasible.

But their custody of the historical objects allows them to apply for grants in the millions.

Benin Palace have lost its sovereignty since 1897. Those artifacts should go to Edo State Govt who should transfer it to University of Ibadan with urgent alacrity, for safe keeping. This is a very simple legal case a 100L Law student will settle this in one sitting.
