According to social media videos, some troops raided Banex Plaza, an electronics and telecoms gadget market in Abuja, after a quarrel between their colleagues and some businessmen on Saturday. One of the videos showed civilians and traders fleeing as military arrived at the location. Another video showed the soldiers punishing some individuals. Platinum Times reports that a viral video on Saturday showed a multitude of civilians overpowering some soldiers during a free-for-all at the plaza.. A trader claimed that the conflict ensued over the sale of a mobile phone.
