The APC led government has recently announced that the NELFUND will be available for for over 1.2 million beneficiaries.

The same APC government recently subsidized the 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage for just over 51,000 Pilgrims at N 90 Billion.

If we can cast our minds back to the presentation for the 2023 Supplementary Budget, the budget allocated for the Student Loan Fund was a mere 5.5 Billion Naira, while 5.1 Billion Naira was allocated for the purchase of a luxury yacht for the Presidency.

So in the minds of the "geniuses" of the All Progressives Alliance, it makes sense to subsidize Hajj Pilgrimage of 51,477 people with N 90 Billion and subsidize education for poor and indigent students with a 5.5 Billion Naira Education Fund.

Let's assume that student loans are approved for half of the 1.2 million student applicants, that works out at 600,000 students scrambling for 5.5 Billion naira, while 51, 477 pilgrims quietly enjoyed N 90 Billion and Nigerians were watching the freak show like a group of castrated animals.

5.5 Billion naira among 600,000 students is approximately N 9, 166 per student.

The basic tuition for a student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) according to Myschoolgist.com is roughly N 116,000 for new students, while returning students will pay approximately N 80,000.

So who exactly is the NELFUND supposed to help?
