Tinubu Reassigns Woke To NOSDRA As DG by seunmsg(m): 7:48pm On May 22

President Bola Tinubu has reassigned Chukwuemeka Woke to the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) as its director general.

Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Onanuga said Woke was initially given the job of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA).

He added that to replace Woke as the head of the OORBDA, President Tinubu has appointed Dr. Adedeji Ashiru.

Woke, besides being an engineer, is an environmental specialist and politician. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering.

He served under the environmental, safety, and operations departments of the then-Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

He was Chairman of the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State and Chief of Staff at Government House, Port Harcourt, for many years.

Ashiru holds a Doctorate in Engineering from the Commonwealth University, UK and has led a consortium of blue-chip companies, in addition to earning many stripes in his professional endeavours.

When I said the initial appointment was just based on politics and nothing about merit, one idiot Agbado came to my mentions to spew nonsense.

People like agbados are the reason why it was so easy for the whites to colonize us for so long.
Follow their slave master like zombies and praise whatever he does. People without a mind of their own.

Even this re-asssignment is still political but at least it’s still better than that Ogun-Oyo basin appointment.

The first appointment was obviously a mistake. We condemned it and called for an immediate reversal. Now, it has been done. That’s how it is.

From Inception, I somehow know it won't go well appointing someone outside southwest to head Southwest River Basin....he would have rather headed River Basin around his territory.. because there are loads of tribal politics in areas these River Basins passes through, especially from host communities..so, it will be better to send omo ina to ina.
