Don't touch LG funds again, court tells Soludo, orders EFCC to wade in

The High Court of the federal Capital Territory (FCT) sitting at Abuja has issued a restraining order stopping the federal government from releasing the federal allocation belonging to the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Anambra State.

The judgement followed a suit filed by Barrister Chukwuebuka Mmeni.

Barrister Chukwuebuka Mmeni has approached the court, asking it to stop the federal government from releasing local allocation from the federal account to Prof Soludo.

The court ordered that all the FAAC allocation to the 21 LGAs of the state should be paid into an interest-yielding account to be opened by the Registrar of the court pending the determination of the suit.

The court also ordered EFCC to probe Soludo’s administration and investigate how he used the local govt allocation from March 2022 to date.

The matter was adjourned to May 28th for hearing.

See a copy of the court judgement obtained from the stables of AIF Media below:

Reacting to the setting aside the constitution by Soludo, a concerned resident, Mr. Eneh Victor Chigozie wrote:

“Since Prof Soludo suspended the constitution of the country and began to operate a strange one in the conduct of local govt election in the state, a lot has been going on.

“He has introduced crisis amongst the APGA stakeholders in all the 21 local govt areas of the state.

“As I write, the situation in Idemili North LGA needs urgent intervention by the EFCC.

Great,

Local government autonomy is very important. It is not only FG, Governors, Senate, and Reps that knows how to squander money. The Chairmen too should be allowed to chill with the corruption gang. When we wake up in 50 years time, we will know whether we can take governance and development seriously.

I don’t know why Buhari didn’t sign local government to get allocation directly from Abuja and into their account, into law before the left office.

It would have been better than many policies he signed into law.

Governors should allow Local Govt chairman squander resources like they squander too.

Buhari seek for the law to be amended but most of the greedy governors used their speakers to reject it, when put to vote.

How true is this report because I don't trust that Eneh Chigozie guy from Enugu state who is always meddling into Anambra affairs like a hater. Some years back he was even caught like a thief and paraded with handcuffs. That guy is up to no good.
