Do Nigerians have something against their names? It seems most Nigerians feel empty, lonely and vulnerable or something whenever someone addresses them using just their name.
There must be something attached to their name. E.g Sir, chief, hon, rt Rev, evang, uncle, aunty, Brah, Sister . . .etc otherwise they will stop you in your tracks and demand that they be called these things.

The ones that truly rub me the wrong way are the ones in bold. We ARE NOT RELATED!
Tantamount to the fact that this just establish false familiarity.
