For many people, wrinkles are a part of everyday life. There are many layers in the skin; however it can be generally divided into three main parts.
The outermost layer everyone can see called the epidermis – this contains skin cells, pigment, and proteins. The middle layer, called the dermis – this contains blood vessels, nerves, hair follicles, and oil glands. The innermost layer, called the subcutaneous layer – This contains sweat glands, some hair follicles, blood vessels, and fat. Each layer of the skin contains connective tissue with collagen fibres to give support and elastin fibres to provide flexibility and strength.
