Whenever I am in Europe and USA, you would be amazed at the number of high profile Nigerians in the Health System. These Nigerian health professionls play a very important role in these societies. It is to my surprise to now learn that 20,000 Nigerians travel to India annually for medical treatment. Now we learn that the Indians are coming to startup hospitals in Nigeria.

The Primus Hospital, staffed by Indian medics, specialises in lifestyle diseases and chronic complaints such as diabetes and arthritis.

Patients come from all over Nigeria and other African countries.

The Health Show is broadcast on BBC World News on Saturdays at 1010 and 2010 GMT and on Sundays at 0710 and 2310 GMT. The programme is supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

There are some older threads out there but I was hoping that some of you have heard something about the program, how difficult it is to get the scholarship, and how much your life would suck afterwards (both financial and otherwise). I'm in the middle of Teach for America so I definitely understand the working for an underserved population, but I don't want to pursue the scholarship it it's going to set me back in my career or if I won't be happy. Do many people do this program?
