ONITSHA- Anambra State government said Thursday that indigenes of the state sacked by Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, would be absorbed into its service.

Secretary to the State Government, Chief Paul Odenigbo, while addressing newsmen said government had already set up a committee to look into the matter, with a view to finding out those genuinely and illegally sacked by Abia State government, adding that investigation showed that some of the sacked workers had certificate problem.

On whether Anambra State government would sack Abia natives working in the state, Odenigbo said Governor Peter Obi was a core Igbo man and would, therefore not retaliate, saying that “we have condemned the action of the Abia governor.”

Speaking on Dim Emeka Odimugwu Ojukwu, he said his demise would rather unite the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, than disintegrate it.

Odenigbo said: ” The death of Ojukwu will not cause the disintegration of APGA. We agree that he is the pillar of the party but his death will not in any way affect the electoral fortune of the party.

“His spirit will not allow us to disintegrate. He was a good leader. APGA would rather grow than die.”
