Hijrah Of Our Beloved Rasoolullah (saw) by azharuddin: 12:29pm On Dec 09, 2011
The Imam talked about Hijrah today at the mosque. This is the Month of Muharram, the month of Hijrah.

Before Hijrah Rasoolullah (saw) and the Sahabah underwent unimaginable oppression from the mushrik. The first time Rasoolullah (saw) called his tribe to Islam he was insulted and they pelted stones at him and his blessed leg was injured and it bled. Once when Rasoolullah (saw) was praying while he went to sujood one of the Mushrik put the intenstines of Camel on top of his Blessed head. Such were the despicable acts of the Mushrik. Bilal (ra) who was a slave was tortured by his master just because he accepted Islam. He was made to lie on hot Sand and heavy rock was put on top of him. But He endured all of it for the sake of Allah and used to say 'Ahad, Ahad' defying the torture.

Admist of all this Rasoolullah (saw) met with people of Yathrib(old name for Madina) when they came to Makkah. After that when Rasoollullah got permission, he send the Sahabah to Yarhrib(Madina) first. By this time the enemies of Islam came to know that Rasoolullah was preparing for Hijrah. They met in their headquarters called Dar-al-Nadvi(not sure about the spelling) and decieded to kill Him. But Allah revealed this Plot to the Prophet (saw):

"And (remember) when the disbelievers were plotting against you to hold you (in detention) or to kill you or to expel you.
And they were plotting and Allah was plotting, and Allah is the best of those who plot."

[Surah Anfal:30]

By the time Rasoolullah (saw) was preparing for Hijrah the enemies had surrounded his House. At that time there were some things in possession with Him that people have given to him to keep safely, so he said to Ali ibn Abi Talib(ra) to return it to the respective owners safely. Also he told him to lie on his bed. Then without any fear our beloved Rasoolullah (saw) came out of the house, took some sand and recited the Quran and then threw it towards the enemies. This caused them not to see Rasoolullah (saw) and he escaped right in front of them.

Rasoolullah (saw) then started his journey
with Abu Bakr As Sideeq (ra). The musrik declared the price of 100 camels for finding Rasoolullah (saw). A man named Suraqa bin Malik saw them and started chasing them in his horse. But a miracle happened as his animal kept on getting stuck in the sand and he realized the that this is no ordinary incident. Rasoolullah (saw) and Abu Bakr stopped at the a cave called thawr. The Musriks when they reached the cave they didn't notice it as there was a pigeons nest and spider web. If they had just looked down at their feet they would have seen both of them, Allah made them not to look. Abu Bakr (ra) was tensed, but Rasoolullah (saw) was calm. It was in connection to this the following verse was revealed:

"If ye help him not, still Allah helped him when those who disbelieve drove him forth, the second of two;
when they two were in the cave, when he said unto his comrade: Grieve not. Lo! Allah is with us.
Then Allah caused His peace of reassurance to descend upon him and supported him with hosts ye cannot see,
and made the word of those who disbelieved the nethermost, while Allah's Word it was that became the uppermost. Allah is Mighty, Wise."

(At Tawba:40)

Hijrah is a very remarkable incident. It is the proof of Imaan, that for Allah Ta'ala the believers left their relatives, their homes, their property, their bussiness, everything for the Sake of Allah Ta'ala. Rasoolullah (saw) is an exceptional leader. He send most of his companions to safety first. Unlike many leaders who live in comfort but risk only the followers life. But Rasoolullah (saw) was unlike that he was best of leaders.

The Imam then mentioned the most important part of the Khutubah, his voice was booming over the mic and filled the Masjid when he said this:
Our Rasoolullah (saw) did NOT enter Madina as a Refugee, But he was welcomed to Madina as a PROPHET, as a MESSENGER, as a LEADER. The proof for this was that the people of Madina all gathered at the outskirts of Madina to welcome their beloved Rasoolullah (saw), at this moment they recited a poem in honour of the beloved Prophet (saw).
The Imam then recited it and translated the first few verses:
طلع البدر علينا
Oh the white moon rose over us

من ثنيات الوداع
From the valley of Wada

وجب الشكر علينا
And we owe it to show gratefulness

ما دعى لله داع
Where the call is to Allah

أيها المبعوث فينا
Oh you who were raised among us

جئت بالأمر المطاع
Coming with a word to be obeyed

جئت شرفت المدينة
You have brought to this city nobleness

مرحبا يا خير داع
Welcome best caller to God's way

SubhanAllah.! Just imagine the scene the Ansar and the Muhajireen waiting for our beloved Rasoolullah(saw) who is accompanied by Abu Bakr As Sideeq (ra), when they see them they reciting the above couplets. I found out the full poem here, its called Tala Al Badru Alayna (this is the original version):
