So I recently moved to a new neighborhood.

There's this one neighbor who's been trying really hard to get into my space, but I'm having none of it.

Can't afford 'see finish'

Hope ur flat have personal prepaid meter sha abi nah CIVILIAN BARRACKS . To avoid trouble.Ensure u have ur own prepaid meter(not the type wey you go dey contribute till dey finish paying. Pay ur compound/house cleaner. Water bill. Avoid gossip

Say hi and don't mingle to avoid too much intimacy

I try as much as I can to avoid everyone in the compound, make everybody hold him side.

Which one be CIVILIAN BARRACKS again

It's just three apartments in the compound.

Getting a prepaid meter na by serious connection o. So far, no issues with light bills.

Same thing, mind your business

No let anyone into your space, greet when and if necessary though.

I only talk to my landlord. No body else . Most times I don’t even greet fellow tenants my landlord has begged me to associate or communicate with fellow tenants I laugh and pass. But you see that cat that always come to window and cry I will kill it.. I don’t care if it’s a tenant or not.. secondly I noticed my landlord is fuvking one of the tenants wife.. but Wetin concern me ??

I.missed so much dramas

Proud, arrogant, selfish yet poor n managing Nigerians/neighbours that can't say hii to save their lives.

1. Check crime rates and speak to locals about their experiences. Nigeria these days isn't safe.

2. Look for nearby grocery stores, restaurants, parks, and recreational facilities. This would help you unwind during weekends, public holidays or festivities.

3. Research the quality of local schools, even if you don’t have children, cos one day you would. Also check the proximity from the schools to where you stay and the prices of private schools as well.

4. If you don't have a car yet, check if it would be easy for you to access public transit. (Check the distance from your house to the nearest bus stop) . Most especially if you would be relying on public transport daily for commuting.

5. Consider potential noise from traffic, nightlife, religious worship centers or nearby industries. And decide if you'll be able to cope with them.

Learn to mind your business...


Nothing beats keeping a low profile in a new environment and staying outta trouble.

The best respect so far is just greet and go ur way, they will find it hard to know more about you, no give them chance as they r the monitoring spirit, once they see you, it's your topic they will analyze the next day

Na so, until you dey in trouble wey you go need at least a neighbour to turn up for you

I live alone with my wife and kids in my compound and sometimes it gets boring especially when my kids has gone to school and wifey go to the market.
Often wish to have tenants but I after reading and listening to what some landlords goes through in the hands of their tenants I just died the idea of having one.

It pays to stay alone and mind your business but there are times you will need people especially in times of health emergencies.

They're the first family we need just don't tolerate nonsense, no matter how big you think you are you still need neighbors, I do go to club or come back from work late hours and neighbor are the one to help me, me and my neighbors we can have misunderstanding but not to extend of ignoring each other, sometimes we throw party.



Just don't take shit and create boundary and use this formula of NEPA sometimes be free and smile generous and sometimes go flight mood.

I've always make sure I mind my business in any environment I found myself...

you can still rent one to get the experience and contact diseases from toilet

Unnecessary association with neighbours no mean say make dem no forsake you when you need them. It's best you say hi and give everyone their long rope.
