Dear, please can u estimate qty of processed feed that will feed 200 birds for eight weeks. |
Re: About Poultry Business by niapay(m): 10:58am On Jan 20, 2012 |
I advise you to grow for 5 weeks or 6 weeks for target weight of 2kg-2.8kg but for your 8 weeks(56days) the total feed in kg for 200 broiler will be 6.99kg per broiler and that is a total of 1398kg(1.4 ton) of feed) the feed conversion ratio is 2.156kg here is my turnkey broiler and layer pen starting from 100 broiler and above, click on the link below to open the file. https://skydrive.live.com/?sc=documents&cid=c574f8660a097570#!/view.aspx?cid=C574F8660A097570&resid=C574F8660A097570!186 https://skydrive.live.com/?sc=documents&cid=c574f8660a097570#!/view.aspx?cid=C574F8660A097570&resid=C574F8660A097570!178 https://skydrive.live.com/?sc=documents&cid=c574f8660a097570#!/view.aspx?cid=C574F8660A097570&resid=C574F8660A097570!187 matheworama@gmail.com

@David, y dnt u provide answers to LSA's enquiries on Nairaland instead of urging him to cal/email u privately? Ur inputs if they are reliable, could also benefit LSA and others here who may have same interest as LSA. @ LSA, be careful with informatn u receive privately. Ensure they are reliable b4 u act on them. Cheers |
Re: About Poultry Business by davidzfarm(m): 2:18pm On Jan 25, 2012 |
Depending on your location in Abuja, You can buy ur feeds from major distributors of animal care or livestock feed, top feed is particularly good for layers in Abuja. its better from the major distributor to safe small cost and avoid buying feeds that have stayed too long in the warehouse. You can also order ur day Old chicks from them because the harcheries deals with them (most of them are in the south west). i have tried Camadex , Ayodara and Best line and those three are very ok. you get decent DOC and low mortality. |

Just booked 120 broilers@ #24k.Budgeted abt #55k for 22 bags of 25kg. 10k for medication & others.Totaling abt 90k.buildng & equipmnt ar in place.How much do I stand to make in 35 days.Any advice for me pls.Thank you. |
Re: About Poultry Business by davidzfarm(m): 9:05am On Jan 26, 2012 |
@ ileanaju, effective brooding is the key to a successful broiler production. weight at 4days and two weeks will play a vital role in actual weight gain, however, 35 days is too short to make ur broilers attain the neccessary weight. 49 days should be ur target as a begginner if you are prepared to provide light for them at least 20 hrs from week 2. if your target is industrial buyer, expect 200 profit per bed but you can however make up to 75% profit or more if you are targeting Easter or any festive season. best of luck. 1 Like |

@ileanu, apart frm the above advice, i think you are looking@ the buss. frm the wrong end. if u quantify your labour imput, how much will that be? everychicken farmer i know of ,wake up btw 4.30/5am to attend to their holdings . for early feeding and waste clearing, watering etc, is that quantifiable.? if u dont enjoy doing it u better quit now cos i bet my bottom dollar these birds do drop dead when u least expected. equip yourself mentally and physicall before you venture into it proper. cos man.take it frm me i surely know what am talking abt. |
Re: About Poultry Business by davidzfarm(m): 8:50am On Jan 27, 2012 |
@ODE REMO, YOU HIT THE NAIL RIGHT. THEY KEY IS PASSION FOR THE BUSINESS & AFFECTION FOR THE BIRDS, AND ENJOYING WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOT NECESSARILY THE MONEY. THE ABOVE WILL BRING IN THE MONEY LATER |
