Wike Was 14 When We Got Here, I Would Rather Die Than Appeal To Him - Ogbebor by amoreobansu(op): 7:10am On Dec 14, 2024
Nyesom Wike, Chinda Were Teenagers When My Husband As Engineer Built Abuja 42 Years Ago — Octogenarian Wife Of Late Col Ogbebor, Mrs Rita Lori Ogbebor

The wife of the late Colonel Paul Ogbebor, Mrs Rita Lori Ogbebor, has stated that her late husband was among those who built the Nigerian capital city, Abuja.

She said it would therefore be inappropriate for the present government of Bola Tinubu to forcefully take over their lands which they had been in possession for over four decades.

On Wednesday, SaharaReporters reported how residents of Life Camp area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, cried out in response to the FCT Minister, Nyseom Wike's revocation of their land interests.

In multiple videos uploaded on X (formerly Twitter), the FCT officials were seen storming the community with a bulldozer to demolish the houses but they were resisted by the residents.

The residents claimed that there was a subsisting court order stopping the FCT administration from demolishing their houses and declaring the revocation of their interests as illegal.

Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, a social media influencer, said in one of the videos that the revoked land belonged to a late prominent military soldier whose family members are currently occupying it.

He said the FCT minister revoked the land and reallocated it back to his cronies.

Commenting on these developments at a press conference on Friday, Mrs Ogbebor said she would rather die than appeal to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the land dispute case between Paullosa Nigeria Limited, an estate management company owned by her late husband, and the authorities of the Federal Capital Territory.

Ogbebor said that it would be belittling to reach out to the president or make any form of appeal to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

Ogbebor, however, stated that her husband was one of those who built Abuja, adding that persons who were close to the President should know her and take the matter to the President.

“I am not saying the President should know me, but the people, the leaders, who surround and advise the President should know people like us, who oil the wheel of progress in this country. And when there is a problem like this, they should intervene, and if it is above them, they should take it to the president.

“My husband was one of those who built Abuja; they gave him a piece of land to work as an engineer. He brought people from all over the world to work with him. Now, after 42 years, they want to demolish it and give it to Chinda? Who is Chinda?

If you take Chinda’s age today and the period we have been here, Chinda was only 14 years old. And so is Wike. Is that not belittling of me at the age of 84, to go and meet the president, ‘Mr. President, someone in my country is demolishing my house? No. I would rather die,
she said.

This Wike is biting more than he can chew. He has forgotten that power is transient. He won’t be there forever.

I see Wike and Tinubu working tirelessly to anger the young Nigeria military to end this democracy. A small shit can spoil the latrine. This I have seen, this charade is going to be short-lived.

In 1982, the likes of Umaru Dikko and Adisa Akinloye were on this same charade rude. The rest in now HISTORY!

And who cares?

So the government should not develop Nigeria because of some people who got a land without proper documentations

Cheap blackmailing that can't work

Nyesom Wike now thinks he is the unreinable emperor of Abuja but he is not. Just over gloating senselessly on the transient ephemeral nature of political power.

You can't just be wailing for no sensible reason. How can government embark on new projects without demolition? Do those people have proper documentations for their lands?

You can't just be opposing any government moves

Try and watch both sides of the argument.
Arise TV (Rufai/Abati/??) interviewed both side to give an account of what really transpired.they are on YouTube.
They can approach the court to address It if they got proper documentation.
Abati and Rufai kept asking if legal option will be entertained, the response they gave says it all.

Is that the lie lie history they told you? Smh.
Btw, the woman is 84 years old and the headline is misleading because she was referring to Chinda at 14, not Wike.

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose.

Someone remarked that Col. ogbebor was a land grabber 42 years ago and wike is a land grabber today. Let's see how this saga pans out amidst the greed, arrogance, pride, entitlement syndrome, power drunkenness, politics, hide-and-seek game, selfishness, emotional manipulation, knockout juju, use of brute force, state power, judicial manipulation etc.
As for the ordinary citizens, na siddon look dem dey oh on dis big man vs big man wahala.

There was no proper documentation of the land since it was a gift to develop Abuja at the time.

I remember, some people were being begged to come and live in Abuja or work because no one was interested going there so those who moved there then enjoyed it.

Honestly...

With all these demolition madness fear no let alot of people invest in landed properties again as before.. I rather buy good cars and invest heavily in my kids and close friends and relatives than buy properties anywhere in Nigeria again... Let's see what and how the future holds .. because nothing breaks a man like waste of time, money, energy and otherwise..

El-Rufai did worse!

In situations like these, there has to be plans in place to compensate them - development is a good thing, but it has to follow due process!

Don't just come and spill nonsense here oga!

Put your self in her place - 42 years, all that you have laboured for just taken over night from you without due process or a plan for compensation?

Think am now

Exactly what the FCT Authorities are saying. They gave your husband a temporary site to mobilize his equipments to execute his contracts. It was never his land. You applied to make it a permanent property and approval was given with some conditions which you decided not to honour.

Anyone who knows this madam would know that she would have been in court by now if she has proper documentation to prove they own the land instead of the tv and verydarkdirty social media man and Femi Fani-Kayode’s errand boy called Deji Adeyanju.

She and her family have made free no stress money from Abuja since 80s ranging from choice plots from Maitama to Asokoro ,Zone 4. She's been avoiding and evading government through the backdoor. She even owns hotels and Bars in highbrow areas of Abuja.

I will advise that she takes steps to ensure that these other properties are properly documented so that she won’t be acting the part 2 of this soap opera.

If the Nigeria Army does not deal with Wike in the spirit of Comradeship for the late Col. then the country had gone to the dogs.

Wike should not go scot-free with his atrocities. Even madness and violence has greater version and the military has a monopoly of it.
