No wonder many manufacturing companies are moving to Ogun state... As a realtor, my experience with these companies is the complaint of multiple taxation by LASG.

Even Schools are not exempted from these taxation i.e increased Lawma tax, Radio and Television Tax, Local govt Tax, PAYE Tax, Etc...

Lagos state agencies are fond of harassing businesses.That is why so many factories are moving to ogun state. How can you close them because they drilled borehole to extract ground water ? Did the government provide water for them and they refused to use it?.

Just unimaginable I tell you! Imagine the water bodies all around Lagos, yet most areas have no portable water supply. And when people and companies use their hard earned resources (now severely depleted by multiple levies and taxes, hyperinflation, NGN devaluation, etc), the government (especially LAGS) still come all you in the name of generating IGR. Shouldn’t the focus be on welfare of the people and creating conducive business environment? 🤦🏽‍♂️

Lagos is acting like we do not know the corruption in ALAUSA?!The bribes and extortion and “settlement” and that businesses face.

There is no shutdown or closure in Lagos State by any Lagos State Agency that does not involve some sort of bribery and/or corruption. 100 per cent are related to bribery, extortion, blackmail, targeted attacks due to political differences and power tussles.

There is this wrong assumption that every business wants to be in Lagos and that Lagos will never loose its investment appeal and pull factor.

No one is saying companies should not obey the law. But when the law fundamentally is extorting companies in the name of revenue and fees and licenses and permits, without sensible consideration for the current economic situation and dilapidated public services and e mentioned, it becomes counter productive to start taxing and extorting companies.

Additionally, paying for water extracted does nothing significant for the environment, especially for a politically and administratively corrupt and rotten country like Nigeria. I challenge any Environmentalist to a debate on how Lagos charging these companies for water abstraction will help the environment.

Can you imagine? Over #100 million naira levy for extracting water? Water that they do not provide.
Imagine a government agency giving you an outrageous levy for bored hole water you dug in your compound.

What about this fiber optic cable Internet companies companies, it is almost at every entrance to an estate they have to make weekly payments to area boys. Any delay will lead to the cable been cut. That is why most times fiber optics Internet goes off.
