The issue should not be the punishment of poor Nigerian masses by removing fuel subsidy but has to do with cutting down on all the huge salaries, allowances and benefits of all the people in government.  That way the country will save more money than what it could get from removal of fuel subsidy, which would hurt the masses more than the elite. Why is the government not trying to cut down on the salaries, allowances and other benefits that all political office holders including the president, his vice, senators, ministers, advisers, LGA chairmen, councillors etc are enjoying by at least 50%?  Instead the president and his vice are budgetting almost N1 trillion for their feeding and upkeep alone in 2012. Our leaders must lead by showing good example.

Security vote should be reduced to N500 billion. The remaining money should be allocated to agriculture, power, industry and education sectors.
