WISDOM DIGEST FOR TODAY 19/1/2025. Topic : WAIT WITH A PURPOSE Bible Verse: "...But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently..." – Romans 8:25 Jesus exemplified purposeful waiting throughout His life and ministry. Though He was the Son of God, He waited 30 years before beginning His public ministry. During those years, He grew in wisdom and stature, pre paring for the mission ahead (Luke 2:52). He waited for the appointed time to reveal Himself as the Messiah, never rushing ahead of God’s perfect plan. Even in His suffering, Jesus waited patiently for the joy set before Him—the salvation of mankind and the glory of God (Hebrews 12:2). Waiting with a purpose was central to Christ’s mission. His patience wasn’t passive; He taught, healed, prayed, and fulfilled His Father’s will while trusting in the divine timeline. This teaches us that waiting is an act of faith, one that prepares us for the fulfillment of God’s promises in His perfect time. APPLICATION TO YOUR LIFE: Patience is not passive; it’s an act of faith. What promise are you waiting on God for? Reflect on Jesus’ patience and ask yourself how you can emulate His endurance. Is there a specific promise of God you are holding onto? Perhaps it’s a breakthrough in your career, restoration in relationships, healing, or clarity about your purpose. Waiting is an opportunity to trust in God’s timing while preparing yourself spiritually, emotionally, and practically. Ask yourself: Am I focused on God’s promises or distracted by impatience and doubt? Like Christ, use this waiting season to grow in prayer, service, and worship, knowing that God is working behind the scenes. ACTION STEP: Write down one promise of God and focus on it today with faith-filled patience. Follow Christ’s example by staying active in faith during your waiting season. Write down a promise of God that speaks to your situation, such as: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14 “I am the Lord who heals you.” – Exodus 15:26 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13 Each time doubt arises, read the promise aloud and remind yourself of Jesus’ patience and perseverance. Reflect on how He trusted in the Father’s perfect will and timing, even in the face of great trials. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You for showing me how to wait with a purpose. You trusted the Father’s plan and endured every trial with patience and faith. Help me to follow Your example as I wait on God’s promises for my life. Teach me to remain active in prayer, worship, and service while trusting that God’s timing is perfect. Strengthen my faith and fill me with hope, just as You endured for the joy set before You. In Jesus Christ name, I pray. Amen. Happy Sunday to you and your family. Worship God today in the beauty of His holiness. Yours Pastor Olanrewaju G L |
