A new trend has EXPLODED among China's upper class (actually, for "upper class" perhaps read "newly filthy rich"), whereby people are transforming their pets into miniature versions of wild animals, fairies, etc. or just shaving and dyeing them crazy colours. Pandas seem to be a big hit and are obviously the favorite. It has become a huge industry and people are spending THOUSANDS of dollars on professional hair dye, salon haircuts, clothing, accessories - you name it!
