I strongly urge Nairaland members to avoid buying any car if the seller doesn't provide a chasis number or VIN. Sellers should also try to upload pictures of any vehicles for sale. Let us do what we can to restore confidence in this little automobile market or ours. There is no penalty for not including the chassis number but nobody will buy your car! Can you do the right thing? meaning more info is required! |

Vin Number or no Vin Number, if the buyers wants the car, he or she can verify the vin number during inspection and before making payment. What is all these questions about vin number? Vin number has nothing to do with future performance of the car. |

payless: This is one of the reasons Nigeria is in the state she's in today. What is so difficult with regards to compliance? It's quite simple - VIN enables a potential buyer carry out checks prior to even viewing. If a car is advertised in Lagos, would you travel from Port Harcourt to view it, without carrying out basic checks via the VIN? 2 Likes |
