Poem : Fuel Subsidy by mikuz(m): 11:53pm On Jan 12, 2012 |
One obvious thing we now all know/ about our leaders and ministers . . also/ Is that in this nation, they dont just care/ about how we and our households survive or fare/ Let us all stand up and say no to this habit/ They can not eat their cake and still have it/ They are not concerned about how food prices high rocket/ They are only interested on how they line their pockets/ We should not let them do this to us/ Every man born of a woman should carry his own cross/ Lets not let them molest and extort us this further/ 'Cause this time what they have brought up is worse than murder/ Now they claim the funds realized from oil subsidy/ Will be channelled towards developing the dungeons we all call cities/ They told us they will build more hospitals and equip them/ And improve our dismal health care system/ That for our graduates they will create more jobs/ And make life sweet for us all . . . like Tom-Tom/ They stress they will build more good roads and Dams/ And rid the parasitic petrol Cabals/ But we all know that they are just blabbing/ We dont believe one word from what they are yapping/ Infact, tell them we dont just trust them/ They are only like the previous Governments/ They keep making empty promises, they know how to keep them coming/ At the end of the day they leave us with nothing/ They wish to deregulate/ But how would it work when its corruption they emulate/ For the best they ask us to hope on/ But how could they do such without lifelines for us to hold on/ Even the meagre palliative they gave/ Could even be turned down by a slave/ They simply failed to address the real issues/ They have looked straight on our eyes and called us big fools/ All they do is loot and loot and loot and loot/ And expect us to look and look and look/ But this time all these must stop/ We will take it out to the street, squares and bus stops/ We insist on the strike, no going back/ Until they hear us and put their cracking house all intact/ Oh God things have really fallen apart/ What happened to our dear land we all loved and held close to our hearts?/ No doubt, we the masses love our beloved nation/ But its the leaders we are afraid of/ Lets indeed occupy,NIGERIA until they revert/ And go back to the start/ Only then we now sit on the so-called/ Round table and seek for the best way forward!/ God bless Nigeria. |
