Fg can sustain subsidy if they are
sincere. Proceeds from crude sales
alone nigeria wil rake in not less dn
8trillion naira in the yr 2012.
Here is my analysis; given that out of
the 2.4million barrels produced daily the federal govt shd get proceed for 60
%(1.4m barrels) total export per day,
multiplying this by $100 per barrel(av.
Cost of crude in 2011) we have $
140million per day, for 365 days we
have $51.1billion, multiplying by the current exchange rate of naira to dollar
(N160) we have 8.176trillion naira.
We have budget of a little over 4trillion
naira what happens to the excess? In
my opinion we can save and subsidise
for the masses. In the long run when all parameters suitablè for subsidy
removal are in place we can then
remove subsidy.
