If You Were Given All The Money You Need, Would You Leave Nigeria Or Stay? by GreenerPlaces(op): 10:35am On Jun 24, 2025
Introduction

It’s a question that’s been popping up in conversations across group chats, barbershops, Twitter threads, and family tables:
“If money wasn’t your problem, would you leave Nigeria or stay?”

At face value, it feels like small talk but scratch the surface, and it reveals a raw truth about the Nigerian experience.
In 2025, it’s no longer just about wanderlust. It’s about survival, quality of life, opportunity, and peace of mind.

For many, it’s not even a debate. The dream is already mapped out country selected, program researched, agent contacted.
There’s just one thing standing in the way: money.

Money: The Real Gatekeeper of Dreams

Let’s not pretend most Nigerians don’t lack vision, drive, or planning.
What they often lack is the financial power to take action.

From tuition to visa processing fees, settlement funds, flights, and basic upkeep relocation is expensive.
Too many people are stuck in “almost there” mode, with their bags packed mentally, but their bank accounts screaming “not yet.”

And while some talk about staying to “build the nation,” others are simply caught in a cycle of frustration—not by choice, but by circumstance.

Why People Choose to Stay (Even When They’re Ready to Go)

For every Nigerian who says, “I’m not leaving,” there’s another who says, “If only I could afford it.

The emotional and psychological weight of missed opportunities due to finances can be heavy. People delay dreams, settle for less, or stay in unsafe conditions not because they want to, but because they’re stuck.

Now flip the scenario. Imagine your financial burden disappears overnight.
Would you stay and make it work here or go build a future elsewhere?

There’s Help for the People Who Are Ready—but Stuck

That’s where Greener Places Services steps in. We’re not offering empty promises—we offer real financial aid for people who are ready to move but lack the funds.

It’s support designed to unlock dreams—not just fund them.

Conclusion

In the end, this isn’t about glorifying one choice over the other.
It’s about the power to choose freely without being caged by money.

Whether you decide to stay and thrive in Nigeria or start over abroad, your journey is valid.
But imagine what’s possible when finances no longer dictate your future.

So, what would you do if money wasn’t the issue?

Whatever your answer, it’s a conversation worth having and it just might inspire someone else to take the next step toward their dream.

Why would I leave!
The main reason people travel abroad is to make money then invest back in your country

There is more to life than money. Some people just want family, peace and sane/ functional society

Actually, many people who move their families are already comfortable and treat Nigeria as a workshop

And if money was the real reason people travel out, many will return after making the money but that is not the case. If in doubt, you can check what % of folks who travel out return before retirement?
Re: If You Were Given All The Money You Need, Would You Leave Nigeria Or Stay? by SmartPolician: 12:12pm On Jun 24, 2025
I would stay. I can only travel round the world and study in world-class institutions like Peter Obi to learn what works in other countries in the hopes that I would return to Nigeria and implement them.

Nigeria must work or we divide it. We cannot continue being a purposeless country like this and I will see to it.

I would 100 percent stay in Nigeria. You can be very happy here when you have money. Many who traveled are lonely over there.

Nigeria is a paradise for the wealth.
Only medicals can be Ur challenge, your private jet can be on standby for that to go for medical tourism.
If you know what it means to be untouchable just because you are wealth, then Nigeria will be Ur home.

I will stay then travel for vacation or business.

Better be wealthy in an underdeveloped world country than to be average in another man's land.

Nigeria as a country has no future hope of getting better. It can only go downhill from here with the set of criminals that are now ruling and ruining the country.
Re: If You Were Given All The Money You Need, Would You Leave Nigeria Or Stay? by ShenTeh(m): 12:20pm On Jun 24, 2025
The question begs the answer.

The question is on the assumption that people are leaving Nigeria because they don't have all the money they think they need. Nothing is farther from the truth.

First, people who japa need more than minimum wage to be able to successfully do so. So they are people who have some considerable money.

Until you lose your health or freedom that's when you know that people matter more than money.

If you have all the money YOU THINK you need but have to deal with agberos, corrupt justice system, NPC or any agency of government for that matter, kidnappings, poor health facilities, lawlessness, etc, you will know that our country needs help.

... Abeg I no get power for epistle. But ask yourself, all the people who look like they have all the money they need today, where are their children and second homes?

There's no argument here, I will 100% definitely stay in Nigeria. My going abroad will be for leisure and to see how other cultures and environs are.
Especially once in awhile going to watch my beloved Man United at Old Trafford and new Trafford. Omo Naija is sweet if you have the money.
