students in tehran-the iranian capital fianally picked the courage to protest the presence and speech of Ahmadinejad, the iranian president when he visited a school.
the security system in iran had in the past made such a move a difficult one hence this is move is called a rare protest.

ahmadinejad was ready to answer questions while in new york but was not ready to take questions from iranian students at home.
to him, charity begins from new york and not at home but i am happy the students are finally taking the bull by the horn or what do u think?

This only shows that even in Iran freedom of speech is tolerated.

In the US, hundreds of thousands march against George Bush, and that only shows that the US, like Iran, respects the freedom of speech.

Thanks for posting.

But hardliners who control the judiciary, security forces and powerful unelected bodies in the government stymied attempts to ease social and political restrictions.

Numerous pro-reform newspapers were shut down, and since Ahmadinejad's election in 2005, those that remain have been muted in their criticism fearing closure.

At universities, pro-reform students have been marginalized, holding low-level meetings. They hold occasional demonstrations, usually to demand better school facilities or the release of detained colleagues. But pro-government student groups have grown more powerful.

Does this sound like a full-spectrum freedom of speech to you? It's always helpful to read all links first grin

I've always considered you a barely literate buffoon. Harmless and amusing, really, but an idiot nonetheless.
