Gunmen have once again attacked Shagbe community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing some residents and abducting several others during an invasion of the palace of the community’s monarch.

A source told SaharaReporters that repeated calls were made to security operatives during the attack, but no response came.

The source explained that the bandits stormed the community and moved straight to the palace.

According to the source, people were killed and others taken away. For hours, they kept calling security agencies, but there was no intervention.

The source said, "Bandits in large numbers stormed the community and forced their way into the palace of the Onishagbe of Shagbe, targeting the monarch or members of his household. However, their plans did not succeed.

"They killed some residents, abducted others, and operated for hours without any response from security forces despite repeated distress calls. The Kwara State government has since said it is on top of the situation.”

Meanwhile, the number of casualties and abducted residents could not be immediately confirmed at the time of filing this report.

The latest attack adds to growing concerns over insecurity in Kwara State, particularly in rural communities where residents have repeatedly lamented slow security response to violent crimes.

Yorubas in Kwara are in serious danger with this endless fulani incursions and killings in their communities, if nothing is done fast, there might be an existential crisis in Kwara with the way things are going. It's baffling why yorubas are silent about this incidents.

A lot of them are not bothered, I have asked so many of Tinubu supporters from the south west on this platform why they will open hundreds of threads and thousands of posts talking about Igbos who are not killing them in their land but will not open a single thread nor make a single post protesting against Fulani herdsmen killing them in their land?

They never give a straight answer, despite the fact their brother Tinubu is president, almost all the security chiefs are their brothers, they've not called them out to protect them but would rather focus on Igbos in their land who are living peacefully with them, the power they fought dirty to get is useless to them in protecting themselves, it's as if they know Tinubu did not become president to help them and he doesn't even send them, like they just got it for bragging rights, then fight the Igbos with it and that's ok with them, just watch how they will avoid this thread too like it doesn't concern them.

Imagine what they would have done or said if it was Peter Obi or GEJ that was the president and all these things are happening
