Security chalanges we having in our Dear country is due to a the neglect by our past leaders and not to be heaped on the present leadership alone. Don't get me wrong, not that am absolving them of it. And I will give some examples, feel free to add urs
1.Hw can the Police fight when over the yrs police force has no criminal data base, fingerprinting, and so on. So tell me when we get evidence from a crime scene hw do u identify the criminal.
2. Our past leaders hv looted so much funds that they can afford to sponsor terrorists without feeling the effect. Abi na me wey they rcv kobo go comot money give person, I don belle fool.
3. I knw a set of police Cadet officers just taken as specialist. But after basic police training they where not sent for the specialist training they are doing normal police beats. Forensics thrown to the Bin.
So all am saying is that there is a lot we missed, or failed to do, and that's what we are paying for right now. Feel free to add some of the Past rot u knw to the list,

exactly what i have been hammering on although I don't agree with u dat jona should be exonorated. This dude has spent almost 2 years and NO SIGN of him fighting(atleast starting/initiating it) corruption 2 a STAND STILL.
But like U said, boko haram or whatever,is d fruit of d seed of corruption, negligence by leaders, underdevelopment dat was sown and still being sown by our leaders.Just like a farmer goes 2 d farm 2 harvest after months of hardwork,he gets 2 d farm and prolly harvests some big yams as well as some small yams,Nigeria is harvesting criminality, gangsterism, kidnapping, agberoism, militancy and d big" yam" of boko haram.
Until Nigerians come 2gether and ask 4 an immediate reversal of d status-quo of corruption, underdevelopment, prosecution of past leaders e.t.c we will just be deceiving ourselves thinking dat boko haram are a bunch of aliens whose spacecraft fell 2 d northern part of d country and has disrupted our hitherto "peace, love, prosperity, development" e.t.c
