Anti-bomb Squad Detonates A Bomb In Port Harcourt by jeremiaz: 8:30pm On Jan 28, 2012
A bomb was detonated by the anti bomb squad today about 6pm,
It was said by eye-witnesses that the bomb was planted at the backyard of a storey building at a street just a few metres from the RSUST Backgate,
The bomb was discovered by the street children who where playing and was brought to the road leading directly to the RSUST Backgate, ,when the Anti - Bomb squad came.,they tested the 1piece of the 24-Round Bomb.,which fortunately exploded,so the Squad took away the remaining.

The nation was saved another tragedy on Saturday in Port Harcourt as an explosive was uncovered in the Rivers State capital. It took the timely arrival of a bomb disposal squad to foil the bid to waste innocent lives.

The killer object was said to have been found in the densely populated Diobu area of the capital city by residents.
It was gathered that an unusual sound from a can in a spot in Ojina Street about 5pm around Iloabuchi by Abel Jumbo axis of Diobu attracted the residents.

Sensing trouble, the residents alerted the police to the strange object.
A bomb disposal unit later arrived the scene and took the object away.

The fear of the residents was confirmed when the object was found to have an electronic gadget attached to it.
Efforts to get police reaction before press time drew blank.
However, a dependable source confirmed that the police were “examining what looked like an explosive.”

Fallout of Boko Haram bombings is this mass hysteria. Everywhere we're hearing of 'plots' being 'exposed' by police in the South. Innocent hausa suya sellers and shoemakers are being arrested and paraded as 'suspected Boko Haram'.

I'm 90% sure this has nothing to do with Boko Haram. Probably wasn't even a bomb sef.

I have been saying it and will continue to repeat it that this evil will eventually spread. We PH residents and indeed other southerners need to be careful. We are simply too loose. Does anybody ever inspect those lorries carrying yam, tomatoes, cow, etc as they enter the city. These are all viable sources of importing bombs. The truth is dat no one is safe from these blood suckers. It is indeed a war situation. God help us.

It is not just stopping at nigeria breaking up,it might escalate to all round destruction of nigeria if a very drastic action is not taken. And that drastic action is accountability.

This is not the time gej should be taking over 70 otimkpus to the meeting of toothless african bulldogs, wasting tax payers hard earned resources. It is a time of sober reflection and mental enlightenment. It is a time to fight and time time sift the chaffs from the harvest.

why can't this country spend half of the amount budgeted for the President's food in buying thousands of bomb sniffer dogs from the US?  Isn't that a faster more effective way of detecting explosives than depending on kids to chance upon them while out in their play grounds?

Wouldn't we be a step closer in combating this heinous terrorist attacks if each officer held a bomb sniffer dog at every major Police check point?
