Minister Of Niger-delta Prays For Gunmen Who Bombed Country Home by Nobody: 1:02pm On Jan 29, 2012
MINISTER of Niger-Delta, Elder Peter Godsday Orubebe, went on his knees, weekend, at his country home, Ogbobagbene, in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, praying God to forgive and transform the lives of the gunmen who bombed his residence, last Tuesday.

Sunday Vanguard learnt some of the minister’s kinsmen were shocked that instead of cursing the perpetrators of the heinous act, Orubebe, who visited the bombed residence, Friday, was busy travailing in prayers for God to pardon them.

Nevertheless, gunmen, same day, along Airport Road, Warri, kidnapped a top female official of the Ministry of Niger-Delta. She was released later, but the hoodlums went away with her official Hilux vehicle.

Orubebe, who insisted he had no regrets interceding for the criminals, said God enjoined him to love and always wish his enemies well, and so, there was no reason to do otherwise. He, however, said the incident had been reported to the police and urged the security agency to beef up security in the country to safeguard the life and property of citizens.

Commenting on the report that those who attacked his house were angry and hungry youths who were looking for money and food, he said that hunger was not enough reason to commit evil.

Also speaking on the speculation that his house was bombed by mercenaries sent by one of the recently sacked governors, the minister said he does not act on rumours and moreover, he was not in any way involved in the politics of the state in question.

The gunmen, who visited his country home, could not blow up the front door with dynamites because it is bullet proof, so they went to the backside of the house, where they succeeded in spitting the kitchen door apart with explosives.

They ransacked every room in the house, including the minister’s bedroom for money and there were bloodstains on the floor of some of the rooms when Sunday Vanguard visited. The minister personally conducted newsmen round the rooms when he visited on Friday.

But, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Tsafe, who visited the residence earlier on Wednesday, said the attack was carried out by mischief makers.

The bothers of whom your praying to, ISRAELITES, fought for that which is right. They are ready to wipe out the whole country called Nigeria if any islamic bigot from the north ever cross their path. Stop praying for your enemy when such a person is ready to kill you.
