Two Critically Injured As Speeding Bus Crashes On Oshodi–Oke Axis by alphonsoolajide(op): 7:21am On Jan 05
Two passengers sustained critical injuries in a road accident involving a commercial bus in the early hours of the day along the Heritage Garden stretch of the Oshodi–Oke route in Lagos State. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement, noting that the crash involved a red commercial Tata long bus with registration number MUS 507 XX.

According to preliminary investigations, the accident was caused by excessive speeding, which led the bus to ram into a moving truck along the corridor.

LASTMA officials disclosed that the truck reportedly drove away from the scene shortly after the collision without sustaining visible damage, making immediate identification and apprehension difficult.

Traffic authorities were alerted promptly and responded to the scene, where two passengers were found critically injured and trapped inside the damaged bus.

LASTMA officers successfully rescued the victims and immediately activated emergency response protocols. The Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) was contacted, and the injured passengers were administered first aid before being transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.

To prevent secondary accidents and ease traffic congestion along the busy route, LASTMA officials apprehended the bus driver for questioning and ensured the swift removal of the wrecked vehicle from the road.

Reacting to the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, expressed sympathy with the injured passengers and wished them a speedy recovery.

He described the accident as avoidable and warned motorists against reckless driving, stressing that speeding remains one of the leading causes of road crashes in Lagos.

Driver hit a moving Tata Truck. That is a challenge. Likened to a full grown antelope hitting an Elephant. The bus driver must definitely be speeding.
Wishing them all safe recovery

based on the ratio of population and awareness on Lagos- Bad news is still considerably low compared to many States in Nigeria in ratio to their population and how well news can easily fly. And when you compare it with the countries of similar population in ratio to their bad news.
Forget that Lagos is small by land mass - Lagos is a country by itself.

But timbulu built lagos? He forgot to put vehicle identification systems?

I thought lagos was a major city comparable to new York, better than london or Paris.

Yesterday while I was driving home, I saw one Corolla 2014 model seriously crashed with a truck carrying container on second rainbow bridge. As for me I dey take time observe well before I overtake, especially trucks. Remember you’re the only sane person while driving. Don’t expect that the other person knows what he or she is driving. Drive like you are aware that they are mad.

the population of Lagos is too much for that small landmass.

You see passengers of these buses usually don’t complain or scold the drivers when they drive recklessly as the passengers enjoy such ride instead. You’ll see these tattered buses speeding on third mainland bridge like F1. I blame the passengers because it is what I’ve noticed any time I take public transportation.

Most fatal accident are caused by over speeding but some will never agree with this especially in the case of Anthony Joshua and his friend ( RIP to the dead)
Momentum = mass × velocity which is likened to IMPULSE.
If only most drivers understand this concept then they will know how to control their speed.

Over speeding, highness and poor decision making.

THERE IS NO REWIND BUTTON IN REAL LIFE. You cannot undo an accident.

Remember you’re the only sane person while driving. Don’t expect that the other person knows what he or she is driving. Drive like you are aware that they are mad.

The driver should be tried and detained if found guilty. Wish we could enact a law to suspend drivers license of some drivers when they have some amount of negative points but it is difficult considering we do not enforce our laws.
