A referendum was approved by the regional house for a plebiscite to leave western Nigeria which no single Yoruba MP opposed.

But the case was the opposite in Enugu were every attempt by the minorities to leave the defunct Eastern region was frustrated by the Ibo majority.

This is where I give my respect to Yorubas for allowing the creation of Midwestern region to happen.

The bolded speaks volumes. Nobody is anyone's slaves in 2026. You have to dialogue and consult to know if the other people are interested or not. I believe thats the proper thing to do. Anything else no go work.
