Nigerian Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti was nominated at the 54th edition of the prestigious Grammy Awards and has lost out for the third time at the Grammy Awards to Tinariwen, a band of Tuareg-Berber musicians from the Sahara Desert region of northern Mali. Femi Kuti deliberately skipped out on attending the awards show stating that he ‘didn’t want to raise his hopes high’.
