THE MASTERPLAN

The new city is centrally located with excellent transport and communication links.

Konza Technology City offers all the benefits of a greenfield, ‘clean sheet’ site but which is nevertheless right at the centre of things: 60km from the heart of Nairobi; 50Km from Jomo Kenyatta international airport; 500Km from Mombasa and its ports; the railway within 4Km.

The masterplan for the 2,000 hectare city is based on successful new town projects around the world put together by an international team of experts, drawing on best practice from places such as the UK, China and Brazil to ensure global competitiveness.

Konza is set to be one of the most successful cities in Africa, competing economically and culturally with the best cities in the world.  Find out why some of the world’s most successful companies, the most talented people and major international investors plan to come to Konza.

The city is designed to allow phased development permitting rapid growth whilst ensuring that the civic amenities and infrastructure grow with the population’s needs.

The central business district is a significant draw for global firms. It includes space for a landmark shopping mall with major retailers, office blocks built to the standards multinational companies expect and hotels designed for international business travellers and tourists.

The CBD includes a small stadium, public entertainment venues, concert halls and sports facilities.

The commercial engine of the new city is The BPO Techno Park, a cluster of technology businesses, financial services firms and other enterprises centred on the state of the art business and science park.

The BPO Technopark marks Kenyas arrival as the home to multinationals looking to streamline by outsourcing - the next low cost, high quality destination.

Highly impressive project. Thanks for posting!

Hopefully land speculators and global bankers don't drive up property prices.

Also, be aware if the IMF or World Bank is involved. Going into debt to these vultures is a big no-no.

This si great news. Nigeria is doing the same thing with Eko Atlantic City, New Anam City, Leki Free Trade Zone and other master plans. This is great for Africa, hopefully more African countries can do this. Also this needs to trickle down to he poor to creat jobs.
