Please I need help.My baby was discovered after birth that he had hernia.though he lost his mother three hour after birth.When is it ripe to carry out the operation as he is just 10months old.Thanks for your response in this regard. |

i really dont know about 10months but i do know of a baby in chuch who at 1yr 4mnths had a hernia operation. Goodnews is that it was a success. Please talk to a qualified pediatrician. |

10 month is definitely old enough for the surgery but try to do it in a specialist center. A teaching hospital preferably. |

there are many types or heria's, i know of many babies that had the surgery once they reached 6kg in weight while others still had to wait until they are 2. It seems this is not an emergency procedure so please talk to a qualified pediatric surgeon. |

You will need specialist to do this, it is possible to do the surgery becos it happened to me and the surgery was done successfully. |
