Earth Hour is a voluntary global environmental initiative in partnership with WWF and Leo Burnett. Individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn out their lights for one hour on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 8:30 PM to show their support for environmentally sustainable action. In 2012, Earth Hour’s I Will If You Will concept invites individuals and organizations to challenge others to an ongoing environmental commitment beyond the hour. Earth Hour began in one city in 2007 and by 2011 reached over 1.8 billion people in 135 countries across every continent, receiving reports as ‘the World’s largest campaign for the planet’.

As part of our commitment, the Earth Hour Team in Nigeria is organizing a 3km walk in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja on Saturday, March 31 at 8am. Check out http://earthhourng.org to get involved.

The Earth Hour Nigeria Team in Lagos hopes to recruit an intern, as a community project assistant for 1month (March, 2012). For the Internship, they are looking for a smart, energetic, creative and enthusiastic person to help assist with community support (Engaging schools, governments and corporates around our Target areas). You must know how to navigate yourself around Ikeja, Ogba, Ilupeju, Alausa, and Magodo.You can and will a times, work from home!With an eye for detail, you must be comfortable with the use of:

Microsoft Office Suites
mobile technologies for communication
and the new media - twitter,skype,facebook,linkedin

You will join the small team based in Lagos, helping them out for 1month, and you will provide support to various projects including:

Growing and maintaining the EH Community
Helping to maintain our user database and analyze user data
Supporting on the administrative work required to keep a busy not-for-profit up and running
Assist the organization of an event to mark Earth Hour on Saturday, March 31,2012
Anything else which comes up! If you have specific skills, we'll certainly be able to put them to good use

We will agree on a reasonable sustenance allowance for this period. This is an opportunity for you to see first-hand the workings of a small, and vibrant organization, and gain an understanding of the many and varied projects of Earth Hour.
