I just have one statement to add: "That every non-bias person will easily see that there are other forces at work in all these bombing saga. There are those who want Nigeria to break up; (and of course everyone knows those who would benefit) and then there is the real Boko-Haram. This is not the first time Christians are caugt masquerading as Boko-Haram; It happened in Bayelsa, Kaduna, Adamawa and now Jos, I wonder why some are wishing this away, rather than debate issues objectively we are just damn too sentimental."
May God save us and protect us, because breaking up Nigeria will require 10 times more violence than we are seeing now. May God save us

This is however not the first time Christians has been
implicated in attack on Churches and Christians. It will be
recalled that a Christian, Wisdom Kings, dressed in Muslim
attire, was arrested attempting to set fire to a church in
Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Also, in Adamawa Yola, weeks ago, three people were killed
in a Church and Muslims were accused as usual. But Police
investigations point to a family feud between a Christian
family.
Last year a Christian woman went to her own parish church
in Bauchi and tried to set it ablaze. In Plateau State, a man
purported to be a Christian was arrested while trying to
bomb a church. Armed men gunned down a group of
Christians meeting in a Church and now it turned out that
those who have been arrested and are under interrogation
are in fact not Muslims and that the story is more of an
internal crisis.
As usual and as expected, the media is playing down the
Bauchi incident because it does not fit into their propaganda
against Muslims and the religion of Islam. “Christians cannot
be terrorist, terrorism is a Muslim thing” while all facts
points to the opposite. Vanguard and other mainstream
media in the country are reporting the incident as a rivalry
between church members.
Since when did Church members start using explosives to
settle dispute? Can we be right to assume that Mandala
Christmas day bombing and other attack on Churches,
including that in Jos, were also done by rivalry within the
Christian community?
For more on Nigeria Media Bias see: The Sun Phenomenal
Bias in Reporting the Jos Crisis and Boko Haram, the Media
and the Threatened Imminent Genocide of Niger Delta
Muslims by Christian Terrorists
As the ‘nigeria wonder’ continues, Vanguard reports that
Boko Haram has already claimed responsibility of the Jos
bombings. Boko Haram allege spokesman, Abul Qaqa, who
is in SSS custody claimed responsibility on behalf of the
group:
“We carried out the attack on COCIN church in Jos
today and we did what we did as part of our resolve to
avenge the killings and dehumanisation of Muslims in
Jos in the last 10 years.”
How did Abul Qaqa verify that truly it was his group that
was responsible? I am sure that if the Christian bombers had
succeeded in Bauchi, he would have claimed responsibility
for that also. Is it not obvious that Boko Haram leadership
has no means of verifying the acts of all its members. Boko
Haram may in fact not be responsible for some of the
attacks that they claim responsibility to.

For me the Boko Haram sect and their sponsor cohorts are trying to fool the society. The truth is that it is a strategy by them to cause more confusion. Nothing in those pieces of news that added up!

Eight Christian men were arrested yesterday attempting to detonate explosives at a church in Miya Barkatai village of Toro Local Government Area in Bauchi State, witnesses and Police said.

A government official in the area, who witnessed the incident, said the men came with explosive devices and tried to set them off in the COCIN Church but they were overpowered by locals who handed them to security men.

“They were arrested with sophisticated weapons and all of them are Christians living in the area even though they are from neighboring villages near Miya Barkatai,” he said.

The official said after the attackers were arrested, there was disagreement between residents and Christian worshippers when some people said the would-be bombers should be released.

But soldiers and police later took away the suspects to Bauchi for further investigations.

Locals gave names of four of the eight men as Lamba Goma, Filibus Danasa, Joshua and Daniel.

State Police Commissioner Mr Ikechukwu Ayo Aduba confirmed the incident to Daily Trust by telephone yesterday.

“It is true that some people attempted to attack COCIN Church. There are rival groups within the church; they have their own internal problem and the other rival group decided to attack the church this morning.

“When we got the report, the DPO in the area sent a patrol team and they arrested seven people. They have something like explosives, and our bomb experts confirmed that the IEDS (improvised explosive devices) recovered are locally made bombs but are manually operated which means you have to ignite it,” he said.

Aduba said this was the second time they are recovering such types of explosives, the first time being in Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

“We are appealing to the general public not to panic. They should be law abiding and report any suspicious character to the Police. Our men are on alert 24 hours to ensure public safety,” he added.

The North East zonal chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Reverend Shua’ibu Mbyal said the incident was over the transfer of the COCIN church headquarters.

“What had happened was a sad incident because it was a lingering problem within the COCIN church over the transfer of headquarters of the church.

“The problem lingered for over a year. We are not happy with the development. Whatever happened let Christians understand that the Bible remains the yard stick to follow; we must follow the teachings of bible to resolve our lingering problems,” he said.

Yesterday’s bombing attempt came in the wake of rising suspicion among Muslims that attacks on Christians and churches in the past months might have been orchestrated by other Christians and not the Boko Haram sect as people are wont to believe.

Last month, a Christian man wearing turban was arrested in Bayelsa State trying to set fire to a church over a disagreement with officials regarding his home’s rent payment.

Also, local Muslims say they believe that a deadly gun attack on a Christian gathering in Mubi, Adamawa State, in January was waged by other Christians and not Boko Haram.

Similarly, Christians were suspected of being behind another gun raid on a church in Gombe also in January, though there was no conclusive evidence to support these assertions.

From a friend in Bauchi:I had just finished a two hour meeting with Rev Lawi Pokti, the CAN chairman in Bauchi at the COCIN center, Bauchi this afternoon. What I learnt was that the seven people arrested were among members invited by the local church to a peace meeting following disagreements over the relocation of the LCC from Tilden Fulani to Miya Barkate, after the post election violence of 2010. During the meeting, Danjuma, one of those arrested was noticed acting suspiciously. He was said to be holding an object that drew suspicion and women raised an alarm and attacked the suspects, shouting bomb, bomb. The Police were then invited by the church leadership to calm down the situation. The police were quick to conclude that the object was a powerful IED that the suspects planned to detonate. We also gathered that contrary to some media reports no weapons were retrieved from the suspects. We helped draft a text for Rev Pokti for a press conference where we highlighted the various contradictions and the usual hasty conclusions that have now become the trademarks of CP Aduba. The suspects were still being detained by Bauchi Police

zaboy: so if boko haram detonate a bomb, you guys blame it on muslims and Islam. But then, because these guys today happen to be christians, then something is wrong with d journalist, or its a set up or bla bla bla. Lets be honest and call a spade a spade. Terrorism has no religion. Just because they are christians doesnt mean Christianity encourages terrorism, same thing with Islam. Dont try to exonerate a terrorist because they belong to your religion or region, you could be their next victim.
u av indeed said it all
