Gen. T. Y. Danjuma, the Chairman, Presidential Policy Advisory Council, Nigeria and the Grand Patron of MITOSATH (The Mission to Save the Helpless) - a Nigerian-based NGO is visiting the World Bank on the invitation of the River Blindness team to receive an award as well as participate in discussions on the role of African philanthropies in supporting health in the continent.

Gen. Danjuma recently made a US$ 1 million contribution to the Bank’s Africa River Blindness Trust Fund (the “APOC” Trust Fund, African Onchocerciasis Control Program), the first African philanthropic contribution to a major African health program. This contribution leveraged an additional subsequent grant from the Nigerian Government to the APOC Trust Fund to the tune of US$ 5 million.

During his visit, General Danjuma will also participate in outside engagements at the US Congress and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies. In addition, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States will be holding a reception in his honor.

Is a matter of time the long arm of the law though very slow and really discouraging in the case of Nigeria will catch up with most of these people, if not man's law, then the law of Karma.
