My cousin is just back from the United states and was here with a samsung phone. He is staying a while here before going back and this phone has no Sim port where you can slot in your Sim card andshe wanted to use the phone here. How can she go about this??

Her phone is likely mobile CDMA technology, not GSM technology. She can't use it in Nigeria with a Sim card.

Hi there,
To the best of my little knowledge i think the phone
is not meant to be used as a mobile phone rather its
a single band mobile which does not accomodate a sim
card.
All she needs to is to get herself a dual band mobile phone
which will serve the purpose while she stays in town

@ poster
wat is d model of d samsung fone?
fmr wat u said its most likely a cdma fone
Advice: since he's not staying 4 long, get a small nokia fone e.g 1100, 1110i,3310(i.e if u can stil get an original 1 grin)
I said nokia because its far beta dan any samsung grin grin

While I am aware that this is an old thread. I just want to mention that I am 100% sure that it's a CDMA phone. Likely a SprintPCS or Verizon phone or one of their MVNOs.

Someone mentioned that even if it was a USA GSM phone that it will not work there. That's false. If it has the appropriate bands it will function. While you will still see some dual band (850/1900) phones sold hare in the US, majority of the phones sold here by AT&T and tmobile are quad band(850/900/1800/1900).
