THE National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), at the weekend, passed a vote of confidence on Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State for lifting the masses with his policies and programmes.

The leadership of the association hinged the vote of confidence on that the impact of the government in the area of infrastructural development and provision of basic social amenities across the state.

The national president of the association Dauda Mohammed said in Akure after the tour of government projects that the government has delivered the dividend of democracy in the many areas that are beneficial to the masses of the state.

Mohammed noted that the tour of states of the federation by the association leadership, zonal officers and representatives of local student union across the country “was aimed at exposing us to the reality of the claim of project executed by various government across the states.”

He added: “From the unprecedented commitment and investment of the governor in the health delivery system to the other areas of intervention such as the urbanisation programmes, women empowerment, youth empowerment and the provision of qualitative education to the children of commoners.”

Other areas according to him include the increment in bursary and scholarship to students of tertiary institutions. “We came to the conclusion that truly there is a genuine transformation going on in Ondo State,”the NANS leader added.
